Founders Day

Celebrating Founder’s Day at The Perse School Singapore

Founder’s Day is a special occasion at The Perse School, bringing our community together to honour our rich heritage and the vision that has shaped our school for over 400 years.

Founded in 1615 by Dr. Stephen Perse, our school has always been committed to academic excellence, intellectual curiosity, and a deep sense of community. Today, we continue to uphold these values, fostering a culture of learning, leadership, and perseverance that prepares our students for the future.

This year, we were pleased to welcome Simon Armitage, Deputy Head (International Schools and Projects) at The Perse School Cambridge, who shared the significance of Founder’s Day. He reminded us that as part of The Perse family, we are connected to a remarkable 410-year legacy of excellence and lifelong learning. His words reinforced the deep-rooted values that continue to shape our school today, inspiring us to carry forward this tradition of curiosity, resilience, and ambition.

Adding to the excitement, Ms Kephren Sherry, Head of Pelican School, announced a special “Founding Student” certificate for every student. This meaningful token commemorates their role in our school’s journey, marking this as a truly special moment in The Perse School Singapore’s story.

As we celebrate this important day, we reflect on the legacy that unites us with The Perse School Cambridge and all Perseans around the world. It is a time to appreciate how far we have come and to look ahead with excitement as we continue to inspire future generations.

Here’s to another year of excellence, exploration, and innovation—Happy Founder’s Day to all in the Perse community!
