Book Day

Bringing Stories to Life: Celebrating the Magic of Stories at Book Week

At The Perse School Singapore, Book Week was a whirlwind of literary excitement, inspiring our students to explore the joy of reading, creativity, and storytelling.

Day 1: A Visit from Author Shamini Flint & “Book in a Box”

We kicked off the week with a special visit from renowned author Shamini Flint, who shared her journey as a writer and the inspirations behind her books. Students had the wonderful opportunity to purchase signed copies of her books, making it a truly memorable experience.

Creativity took centre stage with the “Book in a Box” competition, where students transformed shoeboxes into imaginative 3D dioramas depicting scenes from their favourite books. The effort and detail in their creations were nothing short of extraordinary!

Day 2: Dress-Up, Storytelling & Creative Fun

The school came alive with colourful book characters, as students dressed up as their literary favourites—from classic heroes to modern icons. Adding to the magic, Ms. Kephren Sherry transformed into ‘Mary Poppins’ and hosted a special book reading session, captivating students with her storytelling.

Students also took part in bookmark-making activities, designing unique keepsakes to mark their literary adventures. We were delighted to welcome parents into the classrooms, strengthening our shared commitment to fostering a love of reading.

A Week to Remember
